Enquadramento
This internship aims to provide the intern with practical experience in the field of Digital Security Engineering and Project Management, allowing them to:
1. Technical Skills Development
• Develop proficiency in Microsoft security tooling and AWS security tooling.
• Gain hands-on experience with the enterprise security suite within Azure/0365 and Entra.
2. System Setup and Auditing:
• Set up and audit security systems to ensure they are configured correctly and securely.
• Identify areas for improvement and research potential changes for impact.
3. Reporting and Evaluation:
• Report using security scores within the tools to evaluate the effectiveness of security measures.
• Ensure that configurations and improvements meet defined requirements and timescales.
Objetivo
Upon completion of this internship, the intern is expected to have achieved the following learning outcomes:
Practical Experience:
• Gain hands-on experience in the delivery and rollout of security tools and profiles.
• Develop understanding in using Microsoft and AWS security tooling,
• Develop proficient in the enterprise security suite within Azure/0365 and Entra.
Technical Proficiency:
• Enhance skills in configuring and securing enterprise security systems.
• Improve knowledge of security tools and their application in real-world scenarios.
Improved Skills:
• Develop problem-solving abilities and technical skills in security engineering.
• Enhance communication and teamwork skills through collaboration with colleagues.
Reporting and Evaluation:
• Produce reports showing improvements, criteria or objectives met, and security scores.
• Document the effectiveness of security measures and configurations.
A portfolio of completed works demonstrating their abilities and deliverables, including however not limited to:
o Establish visual KPI dashboards and reporting
o Backlog of future improvements and research questions/ areas to consider
o Before and after state report of security controls around either AWS, Azure or 0365
o Documented testing and improvement reports

The intern will be involved in the following activities:
1. Requirements Gathering:
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders to understand needs
• Document requirements for projects and test cases.
2. System Setup and Auditing:
• Set up and audit security systems, ensuring they are configured correctly and securely.
• Identify areas for improvement
• Research potential changes for impact.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
The intern will be involved in the following activities:
1. Research and Improvement:
• Research potential improvements and assess the impact of changes to security systems.
• Stay updated on best practices and techniques in security engineering.
2. Documentation:
• Create and maintain documentation for security systems, including user manuals and technical specifications.
• Ensure clear roles and responsibilities for the running, maintenance, and assurance of the tooling.
3. Support and Troubleshooting:
• Provide support for existing security systems
• Help support troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Participate in ongoing projects related to security system improvements.
Condições
The intern will have the following conditions:
• Work equipment (computer)
• Hybrid work model (maximum 1x per week in the office)
• Monthly Compensation (to be discussed with student later on)
• Meal allowance
Observações
The intern's performance will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using the relevant platforms and project management skills
• Problem Solving Abilities: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to spillage, pivot and risk reduction in projects.
• Communication Skills: Effectiveness in communicating with stakeholders and team members.
• Teamwork: Contribution to team efforts and collaboration with colleagues.
• Professionalism: Adherence to company policies and professional conduct.
• Project Deliverables: Quality and timeliness of completed projects.
Evaluation Methods:
• Regular meetings with the mentor with formal biweekly check-ins to discuss progress and provide feedback.
• Performance review by the mentor/ sponsor at the midpoint and end of the internship.
• Intern's self-assessment of their learning and achievements.
• Internal benchmark of knowledge, speed/efficiency of work management and security score improvement/ change over time
