Enquadramento
Lightweight and dynamic reputation systems (LDRS) for low resource vehicular nodes, so multihop and multipath connectivity solutions can be established with trusted nodes (i.e., nodes with a high reputation).
The LDRS will gather information from events occurring in the VANETs, will consider the pseudorandom identifiers to identify vehicles in a privacy compliant fashion. The challenge of distribution reputation will rely on solutions that facilitate the sharing of trust information in real-time, by storing information at RSUs or other edge nodes, and providing the means for vehicles to check the reputation of others. To support root of trust (RoT) in LDRS blockchain technologies will be researched, to allow the secure storage of reputation, in nodes with high resources (cloud side), and distributed with edge nodes like RSUs.
Objetivo
The goals are:
- Validate reputation models for vehicles.
- Design, developments a LDRS proof of concept (PoC) for VANETS with support for blockchain.
- Evaluation of the proof of concept (PoC).
Additionally, the results can be published in a scientific publication.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
T1.1 – Analysis of the State of the art for reputation in VANETs.
T1.2 – Analysis of the State of the art for blockchain.
T1.3 – Design reputation model for VANETs.
T1.4 – Configuration of a simple blockchain network.
T1.5 – Write the intermediary report.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
T2.1 – Implementation of reputation model in VANETs using blockchain.
T2.2 – Integrated evaluation.
T2.3 – Write the final report and scientific publication.
Condições
The student will have access to all the computational resources necessary to carry out the work. A workspace at CISUC (Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra) will also be made available. Evaluation through simulation may be carried out using the computational resources available in the department.
There is the possibility of funding in the ADSafeVANET project (task T5).
Observações
