Enquadramento
Cloud infrastructures have grown more complex over the years, in an effort to remain consistently reliable. Traditionally, this meant scalinginfrastructure up within a single cloud environment. However, many organizations have transitioned to multi-cloud architectures, to further optimizethe flexibility, scalability, and security of their systems.
Cloud platforms, especially multi-cloud environments, have unlocked many unique technical and business opportunities. They have also createdmany new challenges, especially from an observability perspective. Not only do multi-cloud environments generate a high volume of telemetrydata that is challenging for legacy monitoring tools to handle economically, but disparate platforms can also create challenges for makingcorrelations and troubleshooting.
As a result, DevOps, IT developers and security teams have been finding new ways to manage their systems and infrastructure, creating theconcept of multi-cloud observability. At a high level, multi-cloud observability enables the real-time analysis of applications and infrastructureacross several cloud platforms.
Objetivo
The main goal of this project is to improve the observability mechanisms in place at Altice Labs, both in terms of corporative tools and developedproducts. It includes the gathering of state-of-the-art best practices in this scope, as well as the research and comparison of the available open-source and internal tools that help implement the proposed best practices considering Altice Labs' reality. An architecture using the selected toolsshould then be proposed to ensure compliance with the researched state-of-the-art best practices in the Altice Labs context, addressing bothcorporative tools and developed applications. The architecture concerning corporative tools should then be tested in an Altice Labs environment,including integration with tools or cloud providers such as Hashicorp Vault, GitHub, AWS, GCP, and Azure, to validate its feasibility and ability toaddress Altice Labs needs concerning observability and integration requirements.

Research state-of-the-art best practices concerning observability;
Explore the observability architecture in place at Altice Labs, addressing both corporative tools and developed applications;
Write a Interim Report.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
Research, compare, and select open-source and internal tools to implement proper end-to-end observability in the Altice Labs context;
Propose an architecture with the selected tools, addressing both corporative tools and developed applications;
Implement the proposed architecture in an Altice Labs environment, including integration with corporative tools;
Write a final report with the main findings of the project.
