We are pleased to offer a unique opportunity for students to apply their technical, analytical, and solution design skills in a real-world project with significant organizational impact.
This internship focuses on integrating three internal business applications - TimeTracker, Leave Planner, and LeaderBoard - into a cohesive, automated system using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint). The goal is to eliminate redundant processes, improve data quality, and create a seamless user experience for employees and HR personnel.
Currently, the three systems operate independently, resulting in various inefficiencies:
•
Approved leave in Leave Planner is not reflected in TimeTracker or LeaderBoard.
•
Manual data entry across systems is time-consuming and error prone.
•
LeaderBoard attendance scores do not account for justified absences, leading to unfair evaluations.
This project aims to integrate these systems into a real-time synchronized solution where leave a
Objetivo
Currently, the TimeTracker, Leave Planner, and LeaderBoard applications operate independently, leading to several limitations:
•
Approved leaves in the Leave Planner are not automatically reflected in TimeTracker or LeaderBoard.
•
Manual entry of the same data in multiple systems is time-consuming and error prone.
•
LeaderBoard attendance rankings do not consider justified absences, unfairly impacting employee scores.
•
The lack of integration compromises data quality and reduces overall system effectiveness.
There is a clear opportunity to integrate these applications through automated flows that synchronize data across systems, offering a smoother user experience and more reliable data infrastructure.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
•
Participate in ideation and requirement-gathering sessions with real stakeholders (HR, employees, IT).
•
Analyze existing systems to understand data models, logic, and integration points.
•
Identify user personas and map their journey across the applications.
•
Design integration architecture: define Power Automate flows, SharePoint triggers, Power Apps updates.
•
Build and test early prototypes for data synchronization.
•
Learn Power Platform tools in depth (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint).
•
Begin drafting technical documentation and user guides.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
•
Fully implement end-to-end integration between all three applications.
•
Create dynamic and responsive Power Apps interfaces to support new features.
•
Implement test plans and run user-based simulations across all roles (HR, employee, admin).
•
Gather and analyze usage feedback; iterate on solution design.
•
Monitor KPIs like error reduction and time savings.
•
Estimate cost-benefit of the new integrated system.
•
Finalize documentation: system architecture, technical details, test evidence, and user manuals.
•
Present the solution to stakeholders in a professional setting.
Condições
TimeTracker/LeavePlanner Integration
•
Develop a Power Automate flow to monitor changes in the SharePoint list tbl_Pedidos_FormularioTeste.
•
Detect newly approved vacation requests (Status = Approved, Type = Vacation).
•
Automatically create entries in TimeTracker with:
o
Task Type: “Absence”
o
Task Description: “Vacation/Justified Absence”
•
Automatically delete entries from TimeTracker if the associated leave request is cancelled.
Observações
LeavePlanner/LeaderBoard Integration
•
Develop a Power Automate flow to sync approved absences with the LeaderBoard presence calendar.
•
Ensure that days marked as leave are not counted as unjustified absences.
•
Update monthly attendance summaries to exclude approved leave days.
•
Automatically update or delete records if the associated leave request is cancelled.
