Nowadays people with disabilities have tools in the main operative systems that help them overcome their limitations. But in the online world, this problem it's more out of control, because most of the web sites don't have any concern, interest or motivation to adapt the online contents or embed tools to help the people with disabilities or to follow any WCAG 2.0 recommendation.
Additionally, the Web was not designed for this purpose, and even optimized websites don’t offer a good experience.
This problem it's also more alarming in governmental web sites because most also don't have these concerns or just have minimal preparation because that’s mandatory, but totally useless in practical or real scenarios.
Objetivo
The main objective it's to develop a prototype that offers a better experience on the web for people with disabilities. Not just an intention, but something that can be a game changer to help people in online everyday life.
To achieve that, data mining and NLP techniques will be used to extract the relevant information NER (Named entity recognition) and RE (Relationship Extraction) from the web sites transforming plain text into computational information.
Afterwards, a conversational agent will consume that information to provide a natural conversation with the user about the contents of the web site. Also will be used voice-to-text and text-to-voice techniques.

- Research the state of the art in accessibility web standards and tools
- Review the work that has been done so far
- Definition of test cases and validation
- Implementation of a first prototype
- Test Prototype with pilot group and collect feedback

- Iterative improvements based on pilot group feedback
- Application in test and validation cases
- System refinement and fine tuning of the models

Condições
Variation 1:
- Internship through IEFP program with a duration of 9 months and a monthly salary of 900 EUR
- 40h / week workload from 9 am to 6 pm (with flexibility)
