Enquadramento

When was the last time that you intentionally saw a pre-roll ad until the end, without skipping it or being forced to watch? And when was the last time you intentionally clicked on a banner?

Advertising injects billions and billions of euros in today’s most relevant businesses. Take for example the business model of Google or the hype that sports events, such as Super Bowl or Soccer World Cup, create for consumers, brands and marketers.

Global digital display advertising market was valued at 114B€ in 2014, expected to reach 175B€ by 2018, and still there is a lot of inefficiency and poor consumer experience! People love free digital content and recognize the value of how advertising brings benefits to the consumer, if it is contextualized and placed in a way that does not interfere with their experience.

Objetivo

One of the biggest challenges of brands is the ability to choose the best timing to present a product or advertising piece when the consumer is engaged with a particular content.

The main goal of this research project is to develop a framework for automatic moment detection in a short video scene. This project is going to investigate pattern discovery, modeling & detection with appropriate pattern recognition techniques.

Condições

Depending on the work conducted by the student, there is the opportunity for a one year paid internship in the company after Master’s conclusion. Additionally, the student has the possibility to incorporate in the company for a few weeks during the second semester.

Observações

EyeSee is a technological startup, funded by Olisipo, focusing on intelligent systems. As of today, EyeSee developed a novel digital advertising solution with unique insertion and interaction features, owning 5 patents in USPTO. Additionally, EyeSee team is working on a smart energy management product and on a smart health monitoring system.
