Enquadramento
This task will contribute with multihoming algorithms implementing optimization approaches that consider multiple criteria to enhance the resilience and security. Multihoming algorithms will be validated through simulation (VEINS), emulators and will be implemented using P4. The criteria to be considered by these algorithms will mainly rely on the requirements of the applications in the use case, identified in T2. It will also consider the reputation information of nodes, developed in T5, to enable the selection of trustworthy vehicles to forward messages.
Objetivo
The goals are:
- Validate multihoming approaches for vehicles.
- Design, development proof of concept (PoC) for safety, performance and security (using Reinforcement learning).
- Evaluation of the proof of concept (PoC).
Additionally, the results can be published in a scientific publication.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
T1.1 – Analysis of the State of the multihoming in VANETs.
T1.2 – Analysis of the State of the art for Deep Reinforcement Learning in VANETs .
T1.3 – Write the intermediary report.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
T2.1 – Implementation of multihoming approach for safety, performance and security in VANETs.
T2.2 – Integrated evaluation.
T2.3 – Write the final report and scientific publication.
The validation in the different tasks will consider VANET simulators like VEINS, SUMO, OMNET++, and full projects with information for VANETs like Eclipse MOSAIC (https://github.com/eclipse-mosaic/mosaic).
Data from Aveiro City Lab will also be used, containing trace of messages from vehicles in a city environment.
In addition, data and events generated in projects HighEnv (https://github.com/Farama-Foundation/HighwayEnv) will also be key to validate the goals aimed with this work.
Condições
The student will have access to all the computational resources necessary to carry out the work. A workspace at CISUC (Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra) will also be made available. Evaluation through simulation may be carried out using the computational resources available in the department.
There is the possibility of funding in the ADSafeVANET project (task T2).
