Digital media changed the way we consume information. From static, to motion, to interactive, poster design has been adapting to emerging technologies to address a new audience paradigm that “increasingly expects some level of participation when they engage with content.” (Armstrong, 2016).
With face detection technologies it is possible to detect in real time a few aspects of the audience facing a poster — presence, emotions, movement, distance, etc. Using this information, the purpose is to explore how digital posters can capture the attention of the viewers and deliver information in a dynamic and engaging manner based on their actions and physical presence.
Objetivo
Develop a collection of posters that use computer vision to read information from the surrounding audience — presence, motion, distance, etc — and manipulate its visual elements accordingly — shape, color, size, motion, etc.
The final output will result in a collection of interactive digital posters.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
1. Review of the bibliography and state of the art
2. Analysis of technological solutions and methods to be adopted
3. Definition of the theme of the poster collection
4. Creating a correspondence between the input data and the visual output
5. Development of a simple prototype to demonstrate the concept
6. Elaboration of the dissertation proposal

Condições
- Student should have experience in graphic design, Processing and, preferably, computer vision libraries.
- During the application phase, doubts related to this proposal must be clarified via email or a meeting/videoconference
