Enquadramento

User Experience addresses how
people respond to what they experience. It refers to a user’s perspective,
thoughts and feelings when using a digital app, product or service – and how
effectively they can work with and understand it.  The process of
creating digital apps, products and services by consistently validating
assumptions through user research and testing is the best approach to meet
business and user requirements. User Experience Designers are often looking
into solutions at the intersection between users, business, processes and
technology.  



Critical Software has a single
source of truth for knowledge management - ASK. It is a graph-based database that gathers information about
knowledge in the companies’ ecosystem. While the backend of the system is well
matured and its utility has been proven, the interfaces with the user are still
at an early stage and were designed for function before usability. The goal of
this internship is to research and design a new front-end focused on user
experience from the first moment, aligned with CSW’s software development
processes.

Objetivo

The main objective is to design an
interface for the ASK database that takes into account User Experience from the
ground up, aligned with the company’s development processes. To achieve this
the following objectives must be seek: •   Understand the business and users’
needs, through meetings and interviews with users and stakeholders,
observation, journey mapping and task analysis. •   Design and test a coherent
Information Architecture, through the structuring of features and flows and
translate them into interaction mechanisms. •  
Create low fidelity mockups (Figma) based on
assumptions and conceptual mental biases and evolve it based on feedback. •   Create high fidelity mockups
(Figma) with real content following UI patterns, industry best practices,
design principles, with an above average sense for aesthetics and an urge to
refine and iterate both graphics and interactions. •  
Test ideas and mockups through a prototype (Figma) for
usefulness, usability and feasibility with users and development teams.•   Copywriting and storytelling
through creation of comprehensive and compelling mockups end to end, following
real use cases. •   Develop and document a style and
components library (Figma) to support the developers’ handoff.

The internship has the following stages:

•   Plan and run research activities
to understand the business and users’ needs [M1-M3]. 

•   Design and test coherent
Information Architecture [M1-M3]. 

•   Create low fidelity mockups
(Figma)  [M3-M5]. 

•  
Write the internship proposal [M6].

The second semester comprises the following
stages:•   Create high fidelity mockups
(Figma) [M6-M7]. •   Test ideas and mockups through a
prototype (Figma). Iterate based on feedback [M8-M9]. •   Develop the Copywriting and storytelling
following real use cases [M10-11]. •   Create the developers’ handoff
[M11]. 









•   Write the internship report
