Enquadramento
Since the industrial revolution humanity has gained immense power over the natural world. “This has worked well thus far”, but we are now at risk of environmental collapse. Our self-righteousness has lead to the soulless exploitation of animals, land and other natural resources, and we may be reaching a critical point of no return.
Given that society constantly changes, we see that an increased awareness of environmental and social problems is becoming more widespread. But until we reach key individuals we must raise awareness of as much people as possible.
Objetivo
The aim of the project is to develop an interactive installation where visitors will be able to explore their part in the overall ecosystem, by playing with their relationship with nature, culture and human social relations.
The goal is to raise awareness in a subtle, forcless, and relaxed way; a space that feels like an art installation, but that also creates a context from which the visitor can develop an individual process of sensemaking, possibly leading to and engaging in a collective dialogue.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
A1. (M1 - M3) State of the art research - research and document the relevant SoA, publications and software review, for the study of the problem at hand; detailed characterisation of the problem to be solved stating specific goals and requirements;
A2. (M3 - M4) Design Proposal - conceiving of a design proposal for the specific context, including audiovisual and interaction models for the proposed solution, and mapping of assumptions and milestones for the rest of the project;
A3. (M1 - M4) Thesis Proposal - production of a synthesis of state of the art and conceptual design proposal for a research paper;
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
A4. (M5 - M9) Exploratory Prototyping - implementations of exploratory objects, tuning and corrections based on evaluation results;
A5. (M5 - M9) Evaluation - definition of evaluation criteria and method; performing evaluations and analysis of results;
A6. (M10 - M11) Dissertation - Dissertation with reflection on process and knowledge production
