Enquadramento
The design and realisation of a typographic animation planned to accompany and promote a musical composition that has a substantial
lyrical content. The student should identify and contact a musician or group whose music and lyrics would make suitable material for a typographic animation. The project will entail the planning, storyboarding, development and production of the video. The target audience, cultural context and eventual use of the animation should be considered and studied as part of the project, as should the historical development of dynamic typography and motion graphics.
Objetivo
The project seeks to produce a high quality animation which satisfies professional and creative standards for this area. The finished animation should be relevant for the cultural area both of the audience for the music and for visual culture in general. The project should allow the student to develop their abilities in the planning, production and post-production of motion graphics, animation and typography.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
- Selection and contacting of artist/musician/group and identification of the piece of music
- Literature review and state of the art in the area of motion typography
- Planning and proposal of the animation
- Writing of the first half of the thesis and preparing the presentation of work for the intermediate defence.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
- Realisation of the animation
- Showing of animation and gathering of feedback from the artist/musician/group
- Finishing of the written thesis.
Condições
Student show competence with animation and typography and have a strong interest in this area.
