The strategy for securing e-commerce applications cannot rely solely on traditional security measures.
Security is crucial for e-commerce operators, as there is a need for comprehensive control over transactions and user data. It's essential to determine which transactions, connections, and data exchanges are allowed and to secure sensitive information at all times.
This proposal aims to innovate security mechanisms for e-commerce systems by integrating comprehensive security measures from the ground up. Establishing mechanisms to protect user data, secure transactions, and prevent fraud through encryption, secure authentication, and secure data handling techniques is crucial. The intention is to research scalable security mechanisms using state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to safeguard the e-commerce ecosystem.
Objetivo
This proposal aims to advance the state of the art in e-commerce security through the following objective: Validate comprehensive security measures for protecting user data and securing transactions in e-commerce systems.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
T1.0 - Identification of the e-commerce platform.
T1.1 – Analysis of the state of the art concerning e-commerce security (detection of vulnerabilities, and prevention strategies).
T1.2 – Experimental analysis of e-commerce systems to identify security vulnerabilities and collect metrics for security enhancement.
T1.3 – Writing the interim report.

T2.1 – Implementation of secure data handling and encryption mechanisms.
T2.2 – Implementation of secure authentication and transaction frameworks.
T2.3 – Experimental evaluation of security components.
T2.4 – Preparation of documentation for dissertation and publication
Condições
O aluno terá acesso a todos os recursos computacionais necessários para desenvolver o trabalho. Será também disponibilizado um local de trabalho no CISUC (Centro de Informática e Sistemas da Universidade de Coimbra). A avaliação através de simulação poderá ser feita recorrendo a recursos computacionais disponíveis no departamento.
