Nowadays search engines are crucial tools in an era where information overload is a huge problem. But search engines are not an exact science, and quality of search results is decisive for the success or failure of a search engine. Google, leader of web search engines, has most of its human resources in the search team, with the search quality having a huge amount of engineers. This internship proposal focus in two different aspects of search engines: search analytics and search quality. The first aspect deals with the study of queries and questions made to the search engine, the main trends, the main topics being searched, the most accessed resources, etc. While search quality deals with the precision, accuracy and recall of the search engine, which implies an analysis of the user behaviour.
Objetivo
The main goal of this proposal is to study and develop a search analytics and quality module for SESE, which is the search engine being developed at Wizdee. This module should implement several aspects of search quality and analytics like:

- Dashboarding
- Trend Analysis
- Failure Analysis
- Ambiguity Analysis
- Search Quality

Wizdee was created in 2009, as a spin-off of the Cognitive and Media Systems group of CISUC research centre. Our mission is the development state of the art solutions for knowledge management, so that our clients can explore the full potential of their own knowledge.
