Enquadramento
The CityMotion vision is that of a system integrated with the city in such a way that a multitude of real-time data sources are received and fused in order to become usable by external services. These data sources include Cell-phone information, GPS data, toll road operators, road sensors, etc. The data fusion allows for example to improve the quality of traffic information at a given time.
In order to improve its potential, CityMotion needs to be connected to other resources, namely the MIT platform Urbansim, which contains a number of GIS static information (e.g. demographics, network shape files, etc.). With this, it will be possible to provide richer data fusion and data analysis (e.g. correlation of land use and cell-phone use).
Objetivo
In this project, the student is expected to integrate CityMotion with Urbansim in a manner as seamless as possible. Furthermore, CityMotion has to be integrated also with DynaMIT, a traffic prediction engine developed at Intelligent Transport Systems lab at MIT (ITSLab).
This project is directly related to the AIDA, CityMotion and SOTUR projects with MIT, IST and FEUP.
