Semantic Box (http://reusableit.com/home/products-semanticbox.html) is the next generation enterprise search engine that combines Semantic and Natural Language Processing state of the art technology to improve user experience and deliver the most precise search results. The system makes use of Semantic, Linguistic and Contextual knowledge to improve the robustness and precision of the search process. The complexity inside is hidden behind a simple yet powerful interface that accepts traditional keyword based queries, but is also able to answer questions in natural language. Because of its innovative characteristics, Semantic Box represents the next generation enterprise search engines, a step towards a more comprehensive and easy to use search engine.

E-Mail management is a task performed by several CRM (Costumer Relationship Management) systems that intend to pre-process e-mail’s sent by customers. This pre-process task is based on the analysis of the e-mail, providing relevant information for both the client who sent the e-mail and the human agent that will answer that e-mail. It is pretended to add e-mail management support to the Semantic Box search engine, based on Natural Language Processing techniques applied to the e-mail contents. The prototype developed should be able to analyze an e-mail and generate a response to the client who sent the e-mail and a report to help the human agent that will answer that e-mail. The analysis should include: topic extraction, summarization, sentiment analysis, skill-based routing, etc. The candidate should identify the main approaches available, select the best ones, implement a prototype and test it.

Objetivo

The main objective of this thesis is the development of a module for the Semantic Box search engine, capable of:

·      Analyze E-Mails (summary, topics, sentiment, etc.).

·      Generate E-Mail Responses to Clients.

·      Generate E-Mail Reports to Human Agents.

It is also an objective of this thesis to create a state of the art and competitors analysis of the field of e-mail analysis, including: sentiment analysis, summarization, topic extraction, etc.
