Enquadramento
Nowadays we live in the digital era, where information flows faster than ever. FrontFiles (FF) is an open and collaborative platform that aims to facilitate the spread of information, i.e., FF allows users to share their own photos and videos, to which they set a license type and price. The platform is responsible for managing all bureaucratic aspects concerned with licensing and selling; in other words, FF works as a global and independent news agency, responsible for managing journalist, media activists, or witness citizens digital content.
Like in the majority of the digital platforms responsible for storing large amounts of images and/or videos there are several aspects where Artificial Intelligence is useful. It can help in: search and recommendation of content; automatic tagging; or in the creation of portfolios. Notwithstanding, this dissertation aims at exploring another aspect more concerned with the specificity of the platform: the goal is to develop a system that enables the search of an image that is uploaded to FF; so that it is possible to check whether or not the imagine is original or if it has been used without the owner's consent.
