Enquadramento

Telecommunication companies have vast amounts of information pertaining to their customers. Sources of information include, but are not limited to: Call Detail Records, which contain information about the success of the call, as well as duration, caller and receiver; access to telecom antennas; interactions with routers (assuming the company is also a ISP provider); data transfers; etc.

This information can be used to optimize a wide variety of aspects related with operations and customer service. In the scope of this proposal we are primarily interested in determining the best time to contact customers and the best channel of contact. For instance: Should we contact a specific customer during working days or during the weekend? And at what time of the day? Should it be through a phone call or through an email? Should we call customers just after they finished a call, independently of the time of the day? Or maybe we should call them while they are driving, assuming they usually make and receive calls while driving…
