Wizdee Discovery (http://wizdee.com/discovery) is a disruptive business discovery solution, that empowers its users with a simple and intuitive way of answering business questions. It makes analytics simple and easy to use for everyone, through a natural language search tool that provides instant answers and eye catching visualisations. Wizdee Discovery is a combination of statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms that are in the basis of the next generation of Business Intelligence tools.
Objetivo
The visualization of results is a key feature of a business discovery solution. The best way to get insights and discover patterns in data is through visualization. To provide the best experience to the user, Wizdee Discovery must be able to automatically generate the most appropriate visualisation for the different results obtained through the search engine. This requires the system to analyse different properties of the data, decide the best visualization to be used and choose the parameters needed to create the visualization. Also, the ability to automatically depict patterns and predict behaviours is crucial to help the user understand the results and take their conclusions. To be able to provide such insights to the user, the system must analyse the available data with data mining algorithms.
The main objective of this work is the development of the following modules in the Wizdee Discovery solution:
- Automatic Information Visualization: Analyse the search results to automatically decide which visualization is more appropriate to present those results to the user.
- Automatic Information Analysis: Analyse the information available to automatically depict patterns and predict behaviours that may help the user in their analysis.

Wizdee is a spin-off of University of Coimbra, Portugal, founded by a team with a strong background in knowledge management, artificial intelligence and natural language processing. Following years of research and development, the company raised $1M from seed investors Portugal Ventures and Novabase Capital to support the development of Wizdee Discovery, a disruptive business discovery solution.
