The CityMotion vision is that of a system integrated with the city in such a way that a multitude of real-time data sources are received and fused in order to become usable by external services.
These data sources include Cell-phone information, GPS data, toll road operators, road sensors, etc. The data fusion allows for example to improve the quality of traffic information at a given time.
During the second half of 2009 (July to December), the project will receive new types of data. An important task is to integrate each of those feeds in the system and arrange fusion mechanisms that provide value added to the platform.

In this project, the student is expected to improve the already running system with the new data formats (possibly adapting the DATEX2 protocol accordingly), visualize these additions as well as propose new Data Fusion operations between 2 or more types of data.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
The tentative plan for this project (semester 1) is the following:
- October 15th - Understanding CityMotion and DATEX2 (1.5 months)
- October 30th - Study new incoming data sources (2 months)
- November 15th - requirements specification and State of the Art (2
months)
- December 31st - Integration and visualization of new data sources
(2 months)
- January 15th - Paper submission (1 month)
- February 27th - Intermediate report. Plan for new developments on the system of the following semester - new data fusion algorithms (1
month)
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2

- May 31th - Implementation of new Data Fusion operations (3 months)
- June 15th - Experiments report. Hipothetical paper submission. (1
month)
- July 10th - MSc thesis delivery. (1 month)
