The performance of the students in programming courses is a very important factor in the formation process of an informatic engineering. Over the years, many were the studies that analysed such performance and proposed somehow new strategies to mitigate the failure of the students in such contexts. However, the problem still persists.
Objetivo
The goal of the proposal is to try to predict the performance of the students in programming courses using different kind of information that can encompass the students performance in other programming courses, their aptitude for the subject, their scholarship background among others.
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 1
-Collect the data to be part of the study
-Learn about Educational data mining area and write a survey enclosing different works in the area
-Choose the machine Learning algorithms to be used in the study
Plano de Trabalhos - Semestre 2
-Implement and test different machine Learning algorithms
-Evaluate the performance of such algorithms in the context of the programming course highlighting possible facts for such results
-Writing of scientific article and dissertation
